LED drivers with a constant voltage and a variable current

Constant voltage CV is a special feature of LED drivers that ensures efficient operation of LEDs wired in parallel. They use a downstream voltage controller to keep the voltage constantly at the same value regardless of the current consumption. In contrast to constant current sources, LED drivers with CV tend to be used to ensure the long-lasting and flawless operation of multiple LEDs or LED strips wired in parallel. Due to their lower fault sensitivity, LED power supplies with constant voltage CV are increasingly used in street lighting or movable sign applications.
